Inspiration can come from so many places and this one came from my favorite BBC series, Anne of Green Gables. I remmber my English major roommate Sarah sat me down to watch it with her over tea & crackers. The story is about a young red-headed girl who just had a mind of her own. From a young school age girl struggling her identity and then blossoming into a young woman who is daring, intelligent and just has the most wonderful spirit. I loved that series. A wonderful book and movie series to watch with your little girl!
Today was not a good day for me and as I was blogging, I was reminded of something. A saying in the movie when Anne of Green Gables spoke to her aunt, “Marilla, isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” – Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
How wonderful the thought! Wouldn’t it be so nice to think that TOMORROW is a NEW DAY with NO MISTAKES IN IT? I always remind my son, tomorrow is a new day and you get a new chance to try again! What a breath of fresh air!
A Photo that Speaks a Million Words
Many years ago, I took this picture of the sun rise as we were heading out on a fishing trip in Hawaii. There is something about sun rises that gives hope. God has a way to give us hope in times of wearyness and darkness. At the end of a LONG day of meeting the demands of your family and your children, all I need is to feel a glimpse of hope. A defeated day does not mean a defeated battle! Run the race to finish. Don’t be discouraged by a bump.
Enjoy the sun rise in the photo!
“Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive–it’s such an interesting world. It wouldn’t be half so interesting if we know all about everything, would it? There’d be no scope for imagination then, would there?” – Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
