Las Vegas, NV 89118

The over 100 degree farenheit temperature in Vegas is enough for us to find an indoor place for the boys to play during the day. Conveniently located close to the strip on Sunset Road, Pump it up has 2 large rooms full of inflatable bounce houses, slides and climb structures. Around the inflatable structures are air hockey, coin operated basketball and drinking fountains for the kids. On a Tuesday, this indoor playground is still pretty full of little ones.

The Pop-In Playtime are the following hours

Monday – Friday from 9:30am – 12:30pm
Monday – Friday from 2:00m – 5:00ppm

The cost is only $7 per child (ages 2 and up)

There is free wi-fi for the parents at the facility, although there is not enough sit space. There are some uncomfortable benches around the perimeter of the facility, but sufficient for parents to sit and watch their children play.

Though it may not be the most obvious place to bring your toddler or young children for a day trip, it was the best thing I ever did. Not only was I completely inspired by experiencing the artwork, the kids absolutely loved it. Creativity flowed from both the outdoor space and indoor exhibits.

Scardinos- Best Italian Food in Torrance, CA

Posted on

entranceMy husband’s rule of thumb for restaurants is that it not only has to have good food, they must have quality of service. Scardinos a little family owned restaurant on Torrance Blvd. is our go to restaurant for all special occasions. Not only do we LOVE their food, but we love this family owned business because they serve with integrity. The cute little italian restaurant is small but that’s what I like about it because it’s intimate. When my husband and I eat there, i feel like are in a close and warm environment. The waiters are all so friendly and the service is always excellent.

The food at Scardino’s are always made to order. We are served with the most fresh ingredients and amazing tasting cheese on every plate. It never feels too heavy when you eat the meal and it leaves you always wanting more.

Conveniently located off PCH by Artesia, the little indoor play gym is a life saver for me on rainy days or when I have some work to do. This one room playground is surrounded by colorful under the sea murals. Children music is played softly in the background creating a fun ambience while kids are free to play with any of the indoor toys. There is an area with trains and legos, a small little grocery market with shopping carts and the large room contains a bounce house, air hockey, fools table and small play structures. In addition, there are little foot pedal cars, balls and a special area for smaller kids to enjoy their free play time. Continue reading »

Kidspace Museum- Pasadena CA

entrance

Every first Tuesday of every month (except September) The Kidspace Museum in Pasadena will have a Family Free Night from 4pm – 8pm.

Museum location:
480 N. Arroyo Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91103 |
(626) 449-9144

interactive-playI checked out the website to see what they had at the museum but the museum website didn’t have many photos. I went to yelp to check on the reviews and many say that the museum was small. So when I got to the museum, I didn’t know what to expected.

Driving up the windy paths of Arroyo Drive, you see the beautiful homes in Pasadena. As you pull up the parking lot entrance to the Kidspace Museum, you’ll see a large green clearing with a kids playground, baseball fields and a clean restroom right before the entrance. As a mom, I always want to know that there is a clean bathroom in case Eman is telling me he has to go pottie last minute.

Cherry Picking in Leona Valley, CA

Posted on

cherry-pickingA favorite pass time for my brother and I is cherry picking. My mom and cousins use to take us around town looking for fun things to do.
One summer, our trip was to go cherry picking at an orchard. Arriving at the cherry orchard, you would see rows and rows of cherry trees. We were given buckets, ladders and we came with empty tummies ready for some fresh cherries. You pay for any cherries you pick as you leave. You were allowed to taste the cherries from the trees so you know if the cherries are sweet before picking. It was so much fun finding the tree with the sweetest, most abundant crop of cherries. My brother and I got to climb and search. It was the good times.

The First Year Photography – Torrance, CA

1-IMG_1641_handsAs a new mom, all you want to do is take as many pictures of your baby before he/she grows up. The first year is precious.

For portrait photography, I love using my 50mm F1.8 lens. It a great lens for portraits because it is able to keep the subject sharp and blur out the background. It works well under low light and I use it all the time for taking portraits.

jane_portrait6Me + my Camera

Couldn’t resist not taking my camera along with me today when I was invited by my best friend (from High School) Jane to visit the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA. This botanical garden has a large variety of beautiful plant life from cactus gardens, Japanese gardens, indoor rain forest and so much more!

Colors splattered everywhere and I was completely inspired by the beauty of my surroundings. But today’s subject is not just the beautiful gardens, it was my friend Jane.  I had asked her to be my model for the day and she was “AWESOME!” Striking a pose was natural to her and it’s always fun to shoot someone who had both natural beauty and a fun-loving spirit.

nancy-naturalMaternity is the new sexy?

In the old days, women would hide their prego belly because it was strange, unpleasant or viewed as ugly. I remember speaking with an older woman who told me that back in the day, women dressed to hide their belly during pregnancy.

Over the years, women have gain more independence, sense of individuality (without men) and an appreciation for being in their own skin. It’s amazing how women are made. Our bodies are stretched to bear children. It is also during pregnancy that nails, hair and skin improve as a result of changes in our bodies.

Having a baby growing inside gives a woman “joy” that cannot be explained, contributing to a beautiful glow! Continue reading »
